How to improve digestion of food?

What aggravates the work of the digestive system?

The first step in caring for the health of the digestive system is the removal of the causes of the problems associated with it. Here’s what can be characterized as an enemy of digestion:

  • Smoking. Inhaled cigarette smoke contains thousands of chemical substances of which hundreds are toxic. They harm the entire body, including the digestive system. Smoking irritates the stomach and increases the risk of gastritis, ulcers and heartburn. In addition, smoking is associated with an increased risk of cancer of the stomach and intestines.
  • Stress. Stress and smoking negatively affects the entire body. It hampers the normal functioning of the digestive system and contributes to the emergence of various digestive problems like irritable bowel syndrome and heartburn.
  • Excessive consumption of coffee. You could say that moderate consumption of coffee is beneficial for digestion. But drinking more than 3 cups of strong coffee a day irritates the intestines.
  • Uncontrolled intake of alcohol. Regular and uncontrolled intake of alcohol is associated with problems with the liver, pancreas and digestive system. Alcohol also slows metabolism.
  • Sedentary lifestyle. For good digestion is necessary movement. Inactivity leads to slowing metabolism, constipation, and in some cases unpleasant fumes.
  • Fatty and spicy foods. Fatty foods delay emptying of the intestines and makes the body prone to constipation. Spicy foods can upset your stomach causing pain, flatulence and difficulty emptying the bowel.

In addition, soft drinks and lack of sleep are the list of enemies of the digestive system.
